CLOZE TECHNIQUE AND READING PROFICIENCY: CAUSAL COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS TO ELEVENTH GRADERS

چکیده

The reading proficiency of Indonesian students is still relatively low, especially the performance in English as a foreign language. Thus, it needs several explorations on technique suitable for with diversities competence. This study describes effect implementing cloze procedure teaching proficiency. research method employed design quantitative causal-comparative. population second grade senior high school samples involving two classes. To collect data, pre-test and post-test were applied to result test was analyzed by using ANCOVA. shows that sig. higher than 0.05 (0.92 > 0.05). It reveals not significantly effective particularly hortatory exposition. However, both who get those do procedure, perform an enhancement their despite insignificant difference.
